Thank you for viewing my blog! I haven't blogged in over 3 years, but decided to start this new one as an easier way to share with friends and family our adoption process.

We are so thankful that you have supported us along the way. I often don't know how to express my gratitude for all you have shared and done for us. Your prayers and kind words mean the world to us! I have had friends donate cribs, clothes, money, and so much more. We have done one fundraiser, our Silent Auction, which raised $3,300!

Since this is the first post, let me catch everyone up as quickly as I can.

I always knew I was going to adopt a little girl from China. When I was a very young girl, I remember my best friend Amy and I talking about this walking long back dirt roads on my family's farm in Missouri. It was just always in my heart. I then grew up, got married, had my beautiful daughter Grace, and watched some of my closest friends adopt. It just seemed to always be in my mind, and always in my heart. Drew and I started the discussion of adoption before we even had Grace, but didn't really begin researching it until 2010 and reached out to friends in 2011. It took us a full year and a half to take that leap and we put our application into the adoption agency September 2012. Since then we have had piles of paperwork to complete, a home study with our social worker, meetings, online classes, and so much more. There have been some late nights the past year with paperwork, paperwork, online classes, and more paperwork. Every single bit of it is WELL worth it. When I was pregnant with Grace I was sick at least 5 times a day for the first 5-6 months, and every single time I was sick, I would say "It is for a good thing! It is for a good thing!" As hard as it was! I feel the same about every paper signed and notarized and for every fingerprint and background check. "It is for a good thing!!!!"

So here is the timeline:

10/01/2012- application accepted with adoption agency
02/08/2013- gave final piece needed for home study completion
05/07/2013- Documents to China!
05/28/2013- Log in Date for China!
08/29/2013- Referral!!!!
09/12/2013- Letter of Intent Sent
09/13/2013- Preapproval

And now we are waiting for our LOA ( Letter of Acceptance ) once we receive this we should be traveling within 6-8 weeks to get our sweet girl!

I will try to keep my blog post short and sweet, but as you all well know I tend to get long winded.
